Here's what I've been up to. On Victoria day weekend I went to Niagara falls. Oh, I 've had so much fun! We walked along the falls. I heard the water rumble and felt the drizzle of the falls on my face


I just love this photo, doesn't the rainbow look amazing?



The falls looked gorgeous at night because they are illuminated by coloured lights, Unfortunately all the photos came out blurry, I guess you'll just have to go see it yourself!

I also walked around the Clifton Hill and of course, tried my hand at the slots.

We, also went to the aviary called Kingdom of the Lost Birds.
I love parrots and someday, I'm going to have a parrot just like this one. I also feed the Lorikeets thir favourite snack-nectar. I highly recommend going there.


Ha, ha, I'm kinda scared of the bearded dragon!
I also went on the Ferris Wheel, , It was amazing to see everything from high up!

It was a fun weekend and I'm already planning what to do on Canada Day weekend!

Palindrome Hat

Easy, peasy project, made for my dear mom. Hope she likes it!

I love the fact that the cables are reversible, and I am planning to knit the scarf that goes along with this hat. (If only I had all the time in the world, it wouldn't be enough!)

Looks very cute, however when I tried it on, the wool was kind of itchy...I really like the colour combination though.
P.S. she does like it!

Razor cami

This is my latest creation, hot off the press!
Only took me 3 days to make. I absolutely love it, and it's just in time for the warm weather.

Yarn: TLC Cotton Plus, two 100 g balls


Modifications: Made it 15", and made i-cord straps, This is my first time working with i-cord as well as using three needle bind off. I also used smaller needles for the ribbing an I'am glad I did! Overall, I like how it turned out, and maybe i should make another one?

Ruffled Purse

So what was next on the needles? Well, why not a beautiful bag? This bag I finished in October 07.

I modified the pattern by adding stripes and the button in the front. The ruffles were fun to do. The hardest part was sewing in the lining which took a week in of itself.
Overall this was a fun project which was done relatively quickly.

Basketweave Scarf

So, once I made my first scarf I could not wait to make more, So I did! Here they are:

I made this scarf in basket weave stitch. I bought this yarn at Creativ Festival in October 07. It's not visible here but I ran out of yearn, so the scarf had to be shorter than I anticipated.


I also made up the pattern for this one. I finished it in October 07. It was a fun project, but the yarn is a little bit hard to work with, so I recommend using bamboo needles to help make it less slippery.
Yarn: Bernat Boa Yarn,
Needles: straight, size: 5.oo mm.
Gauge: its a scarf! live a little!

Knit with black yarn for 3.5 inches.
Knit with pink yarn for 2 rows
Knit with black yarn for 2 rows
Knit with pink yarn for 2 rows
knit with black yarn for 2 rows

Then, begin working the panels each one is 8 rows.
Work the desired number of panels, i made 17 panels , ending with pink.

Then, knit with black yarn for 2 rows
Knit with pink yarn for 2 rows
knit with black yarn for 2 rows
Knit with black yarn for 3.5 inches.
Knit with pink yarn for 2 rows

Weave in ends and ta-da it's done!

My Really, Truly First FO

Even though, this is not knitted but cross-stitched, it all began with this piece, I bought it at the dollar store, way back when I didn't know about craft stores and the like. Since then, I NEVER saw any cross stitching kits at the dollar store. I guess I was really lucky. I know its kinda ugly, still it has a special place in my heart and on my wall.


This gem I stitched from a kit from a Russian company called Zolotoe Ryno (http://rukodelie.ru/) I stitched it during my stay at a cottage. It was amazing, I stitched on the deck with the view to Ontario Lake, I heard the tide crash along the bay, watched the seagulls circle. It really was a memorable experience.

My Very First FO

This is it, folks. A garter stitch scarf and hat, no pattern just whatever I could come up with at the time. I used mystery yarn, with feels oh-so-soft but quality leaves a lot to be desired. It took me about a week to finish the scarf, which is a little bit too short as I look at it now, but at the time it was the most beautiful thing in the world. I actually finished it in August 07, but rarely wore it in the winter.


The hat I knitted on straight needles and it whas difficult because i kept loosing stitches and picking them up was a big pain in the butt, due to the fluffy nature of the yarn.

The Begining

My fascination with knitting has led me to create this blog to keep up with my ideas and what-nots. My inspiration to start this blog was seeing such an active community of avid knitters. I am a novice knitter (started August 07), who is trying to move on from scarves and hats to more complex creations. My first experience with crafts started with cross stitching, which I still absolutely adore and wish to do more of.

Cross stitching has been a lifesaver for me. I have always been very perfectionistic and in high school and only perfect grades would do. In 2006 I have been diagnosed with Major Depression and I felt like life has lost its meaning. It has been a hard road since then, along the way I found that cross stitching ( and recently knitting) have really helped me deal with the stresses of living and get my life back on track.

This blog is for anyone who is interested in knitting, who is already an accomplished knitter, and for anyone who finds solace in spending a few good hours with a recent WIP.
